How many inches do you think are between each tier size, 2 or 4? I have a bride who wants to use the rose idea from this cake with some other ideas from other cakes. I don't know if it would make a difference but we really like the way this one looks.

Also, since we will be working with real roses, would parchment be all I would need to keep the roses from touching the cake? I would hate for someone to munch on some pesticides!! icon_smile.gif TIA!

I would think 2" would be fine. Looking at my roses from valentines day - if it was 4" you would have to put two layers of roses to fill in the gap between the layers. Parchment paper should be just fine to keep the roses off of the icing.

I agree... 2 inches would be perfect for a rose.

Assuming each cake layer was 4", and looking closely at the photo, there appears to be more than 2" between the tiers. At least 3".

I would guess the sizes to be 14-12-10-8 just like you did.

I recently made a cake with the roses inbetween as your picture states. I didn't use the wilton tall teir cake stand (and should have) and I ended up spacing them 2 1/2 inches. The 1/2 inch made a huge difference when it came to placing the roses and gave enough room for the roses and next teir to not "touch". thumbs_up.gif
