Can i add melted chocolate to cake batter to make it a white chocolate cake? I'm making a scratch white cake and can't find a recipe for white chocolate cake. Or maybe add flavoring?

I have made a lemon lovers white chocolate cake and when making it I used approx 1/2 cup of melted white chocolate to the cake, it was very yummy. You could add the melted white chocolate to a white cake mix I would imagine.

I think you could add in 8-10 ounces melted white chocolate and it would be delicious. Let us know what you do and how it turns out.

Harumph! I tried adding the melted chocolate and it didn't turn out well! icon_cry.gif I must've added too much - i think it was 7 oz. - because the cakes totally fell in the middle!! Huge crater - icing couldn't hide that fact - on another note, the cakes tasted great. DH & DS were thrilled with the mistake.

I decided to run to the store and do a doctored mix. I know that'll come out perfectly! I didn't have time (or any more white chocolate) to experiment tonite as I'm taking this cake and 5 doz. cookies to FL Saturday morning and i have so much yet to do!

I'll try it again some time and let you know!

I am making a White Chocolate Cake tomorrow for a wedding. I dont remember who posted this recipe, but its really good. I tried cupcakes for the bride and her family and my family and everyone loved the.

To a white cake mix, add a 4 serving box of white chocolate pudding, 4 egg whites, 1 t. clear vanilla, 1 c. sour cream, 1/2 c. water and 1/3 c. oil. This will be thick and the cake comes out dense and durable and very yummy! It's yields a little more than the a box mix.

I wish I could remember who listed this to give proper credit, but the cake is delicious!
