I just got a call for a birthday cake. (My first real order other than family and close friends) They want a swing set with a girl hanging from the top bar. Any ideas how to do this with buttercream icing. Haven't learned how to do fondent yet. Next months class!!

Thanks!!!

How about a FBCT. Find a picture and do it that way.

Due Wednesday morning....
I didn't think of FBCT. I'll have to find a picture and try that??

OK... I thought I would do a FBCT. I've only done a couple and they were a solid picture. How do you do one that has a lot of space like the between the bars of the swing set. Do you just fill it all in with the last layer of icing so it is all one big piece. Sorry but like I said I have only done a couple solid pictures...

Thanks!!

Heather ~ Yeah ~ I would do one large FBCT. After I get the picture finished I roll over it with a sponge paint roller to get the picture nice and smooth. Then I take my background icing and pipe it over the whole design with the large icer tip. Make sure the flat side of the icer tip is down and the ridges are up or you'll have ridges to work out of the FBCT when you flip it onto the cake. Then I roll over it with a sponge type paint roller to help press it smooth.

If you don't have the large icer tip just use a large writing tip (like a #12 or so).
