The recipes all say to add flavorings right before you use it. Why is that, and does that apply if I am making it chocolate? Thanks, Keli

I add flavor when I am making it - after all the butter is added, after the "fluffiness" is attained.

I assume directions would only tell you that if the icing had the potential to lose its flavor over time (say, if you froze it). But I use IMBC on almost every cake I do and I have never had a flavor fade (even after its been frozen for a while).
