So I have been longing to try the famed MMF, but I don't have a microwave oven (yes, I live in the 12th century, lol).
Is there a way to heat up the marshmellows on the stove?
Also, I read that if you need to soften the MMF once it's had a chance to rest, all you need to do is "zap" it......but since I don't a microwave to "zap" the fondant, what do I do?
You can heat the marshmallows in a saucepan on the stove. Just spray your saucepan with nonstick spray EXTREMELY WELL. Use lowest heat and when the marshmallows are not quite completely melted pour into a mixing bowl.
As for reheating it, I can only think of one way. Put the MMF in an airtight Ziploc bag. Run some not-quite-boiling water on the stove. Dip the bag for a few seconds in the water until it becomes soft enough to work with.
U can do it over a double boiler...as for warming it up...you could put it ina warm oven, but make sure its covered so it doesnt dry out
What about sitting it on a heating pad to soften it up after you make it? I've used heating pads to keep candy melts soft while working with them.
