Gum Glue, Royal Icing, What Else???

Hey i am wondering what can be used in place of this gum glue that everyone keeps talking about on here im in northen ontario and dont get alot of fancy tools and pearl dust or any of that but would love tips and anything anyone has out there!

Nic Lodge mentions using slightly beaten egg white if the gumpaste piece is for display and not to be eaten, otherwise a little meringue podwer mixed in water.

You can brush on vanilla extract to tack on fondant.

plain water also works for sticking fondant

i use a small piece of fondant then some water then heat it up in the microwave for a few seconds..

You can dissolve approximately 1 tsp of Gump Paste (separated into many small pieces) in 1-2 T of water. Let it sit for at least an hour and you will have gum glue. You can keep this mixture in a jar and use for 2-3 weeks.

I only posted this question last night and now i have all the info i could want i just found this website and am so amazed at what is avaliable I took baking and pastry in school and this is such a good resource im going to pass it along..... now only if i knew how to work the buttons... oh well ill learn haha
