I am so mad at myself and my husband right now. We live in North Dakota, and it's been snowing and melting lately so the driveway is ice.
I made the turkey from the duck pan, I hadn't put the leaves in it yet but I was so pleased with it. I went outside to get in the car and fell on the ice, knocked the bird on it's side and knocked the icing off. I came back inside and my husband asked me what I did to slip because I haven't fallen on the ice yet this year. We could skate on our driveway right now if it was smooth and he has to ask why I fell.
Now he can't figure out why I want him to just take the kids to his mother's without me.
awww...CHEER UP!! dont let a turkey cake bring u down..go out with you r family and make memories...and be thankful that you didnt break your neck! i hate winter
Oh no! It's so upsetting when something like that happens. You work so hard on a cake and then in a split second I'm sorry.
At least you didn't get hurt, it happens real fast that way. Sorry about your accident.
BTW...I was born in ND and moved from there in 1966! What part of the state do you live in? I lived in Surrey & Minot.
The thing that really upset me was the husband's dumb comment, he didn't even ask if I was okay.
We live north of Belcourt, just off the Turtle Mountain Indian Reservation. We're a couple hours from Minot. I'm not from North Dakota but my husband's family is.
So when HE falls, look at him all sweet like, and ask him, what he did to fall as he hasn't fallen all year yet. I know I'm bad.
