I did try to add pudding to my scratch cake, and I didn't like the results. The cake did not rise as much, and it had a funny texture. It may depend on the recipe you are using. Are you trying to get a particular flavor with the pudding? Maybe there is another way to do it.

NO not really i was just wondering if it can be done, since they do it in the mixes, but then again mixes are made deferent, to suit all purpose.
I i can't buy the mixes here i did see one store tht carried duncan hines but he want s like almost 4 euro's for a box.
I only bake from scratch so I don't know anything about the mixes. You could try adding a box of pudding to your recipe and see what happens....I actually posted this same question quite a while back, and didn't get hardly any responses...I think it is just not really necessary to add it to a scratch cake.
At 4 Euros per box it must be cheaper to bake from scratch!!
