I was wondering how to support a standing wine bottle cake. Do I put cake circles between the layers. Any pics, or help would be appreciated!
Found this: http://www.sugarcakes.com/special12.html
All the other ones that I could find were laying on their sides.
Maybe you could take a piece of plywood, attach a dowel rod to it, bake some rounds, layer them with filling of choice over the dowel rod, freeze it for a little bit and then carve away to form the shape.
Carol made this one

She made the top of the bottle using foil and then iced it in buttercream.
I should have mentioned that it's in the gallery under Theme Cakes / 3D Cakes > Beer / Wine / Cigars.
lisa,
is the neck of the bottle foil with buttercream over it? or is just the very top foil?
Sorry, I should have been more clear. The neck of the bottle is foil too. If you could picture the base as a cake made using the 3D ball pan (I don't remember what she said she used to make the base), up from that would be made from foil.
This website shows you how to construct a standing bottle out of cake.

Hey, thanks to all of you! I wish I had that link from talmas yesterday. I followed the directions from m0use and Lisa and it turned out pretty good! I'll try to post a picture later. Thank you all again for the help.
