I use both depending on the cake.

Over the years cakes boxes have improved to where I prefer them to scratch, DH of course icon_wink.gif

I would think as long as the cake taste good that is what matters. I've never had a compliant. icon_smile.gif

But, I do agree with charging more if you bake from scratch. It takes you more time and you only use the best ingredients. icon_rolleyes.gif

I just love cake, I've only ran across one I couldn't eat and that was my son's wedding. Of course the Bride thought it was the best ever, poor child. icon_razz.gif

Be happy, eat cake icon_lol.gif

FYI, if you're going to make boonenati's mud cakes - be aware that the temperature for all the muds should be 160 celsius or 320 F (as the temp in the recipe is incorrect).

Here's a mud thread with that info:

I've used both and never had a complaint. Then, later, I ask people "which did u like better?", (without telling them that one was from a box) and they never know! Sometimes, I wonder if it is worth the trouble...but, I sort of feel prouder(if that's a word, lol) when I say "everything is made from scratch". icon_wink.gif

Thank you so much to everyone who offered your experience and opinions on this. I'm a newbie, & didn't realize what a hot topic it is!

I really appreciate you sharing your thoughts and bits of "sweet" wisdom. icon_smile.gif
