is there a difference between these? i had a recipe for pastillage that i just used and the pastillage came out good and was easy to work with. i made a pair of booties, which came out okay. however, when they dried, the pastillage got wrinkly. i kind of looks like old leather...
does anyone know if i can fix this? can i water down some pastillage that i have leftover and fill in the cracks? i would love them to look smooth!
thanks!
pastillage is used for more structural things like buildings.
gumpaste has more stretch and use to fashion flowers and more intricate things.
HTH
no..you may be able to dip your finger in a little water and smooth it over, but be careful too much water will dissolve the sugar.
you may need to make another set or just let these go as is.
Or you could try to sand it down with a fine sandpaper
YES! I forgot about this...since I just do that to the edges..lol..I keep a special nail file in my gumpaste tool for that...A metal one..I HATE seeing rough edges on my work! ![]()
