does anyone know a good wedding cake recipe that is made from scratch, not cake mix. Just plain white cake and white icing. The butter cream icing that i make is way to sweet and so is the fondant recipe that i got out of a cake book (the well-decorated cake).. also, i need a fondant recipe that is smooth, not too sweet. I've been having problems with fondant!!

I think you're going to have a really tough time finding a not-to-sweet fondant because all it is is sugar, but if the cake's not too big, maybe you can cover it in white chocolate clay so at least it has really good flavor.
For icing you may want to try italian meringue buttercream. There's a recipe at marthastewartliving.com
