I have only made this recipe once before and it was absolutely my favorite cake!

I am now making it again this morning and the batter is super thick. I don't remember it being this way before, maybe it was. I followed the directions exactly.

Is it supposed to be pretty thick or is there something I can do to thin it out a bit?

Quick responses are appreciated!

Thanks,
Brandi

Okay...you're going to have to forgive me...I guess I panicked!

I DID follow the directions exactly as I had written them down this morning...forgot to write down the 2 2/3 cups of water. oops! icon_redface.gificon_redface.gificon_redface.gificon_redface.gificon_redface.gif

I just checked the recipe here on CC and discovered my mistake. So sorry about this.

Whew! I think everything is going to be okay...

I am making this cake for my own baby shower and I wanted it to be perfect. I have never made a cake for myself before and I am all excited about it.

Hope y'all have a great day!

It should be fine if you followed the recipe.
I think sometimes if your ingredients like the eggs and sourcream are straight from the fridge it can get thick. But it will be fine once you bake.
