I'm making a baby shower cake tonight (for tomorrow) and plan on putting an mmf "baby blanket" on it - but I don't want it to get hard! How do all you mmf decorators keep it soft on the cake? Will the humidity in the refridgerator help with this?

I have never had a problem with my MMF getting hard. I have tried to make mmf items to dry hard and they take a long time.

With it being made the day ahead I don't think you will have a problem with it. It will get stiff in the fridge, but once it comes back to room temperature it will be soft still.

thank you, leily... i made my mmf booties and they dried rock hard in 24 hours... but they were left out to air. there is very little humidity in my house because we have the heat cranked, it's so cold! Maybe I'll keep it in an airtight container until I'm ready to put it on.
