I don't have a Wondermold pan so I'm going to try to make my doll cake in my Pampered Chef bowl. I'm just concerned that it's not going to cook well. Is there a trick like the heating core or flower nail you can use with that? I assume the flower nail wouldn't work because it's so short, and I don't own a heating core. I thought I heard something about making a tin foil "stick" and putthing that in the middle of the pan, but I'm not sure.

I've used my pampered chef bowl to make cake in and didn't use a heating core or anything at all and it turned out moist (but not batter-y) and delicious!! Try the pampered chef website....I think it has instructions to baking in the bowl...temp, time, etc so that it gets done. HTH

I have baked numerous cakes in both of my pampered chef batter bowls. It takes a lot longer than you think it's going to. I have not used a heating core-next time I think I will put a flower nail in it though. I baked at 325 for probably 75 minutes in the larger batter bowl. It came out just fine and worked well for the doll.

Thanks, I checked the website and they said to cook it at 325 for 75 minutes. I just wanted to make sure it was going to be done but not dry. Only 15 more minutes before I check it! Thanks!

Those batter bowls are on my Pampered Chef wish list for my party in the spring. I'll have to make a doll and check this out. My granddaughter wants another barbie doll cake anyway. I can't see where using a flower nail could hurt anyway.
