SO, Im making my Brothers wedding cake on March 31st and his fiance wanted a BC cake that has smoothed edges, perfectly smooth. I just CAN'T do it. Its hard for even extremely experienced people who have the time to work on it. So I tried the white chocolate and she wants it more white but said she DID NOT WANT FONDANT!! Uuggh!
So, I talked to her today and said I MAKE MY OWN FONDANT with marshmallows and powder sugar so it won't be that nasty Wilton stuff and that is the only way I will get the smoothness you want and she actually said OKAY!!!!!!! YAAAAY!!!!!! I can totally do this now! WHEW!!!!! I was seriously thinking about just buying her a freakin wedding cake since she was being so picky. Luckily she bent for a free cake. She should! Its a free Wedding cake!

I swear katy625 I am not stalking you but Merckens makes a type of chocolate coating called super white that would be perfect for this. icon_smile.gif

See, that is what I was trying to do with the chips the other day! I thought a white chocolate ganache would be great too! Is there any other place to buy those chocolates other than online. I have no patience for delivery. Does any stores sell those??

Have you thought about doing a 50/50 of white chocolate clay and fondant. That way you'll get the white chocolate flavor.

The white chocolate cake on this page is divine. But the white chocolate frosting is even better and so useful. It is like white chocolate cream. It doesn't really crust, but if you experimented a bit with extra conf sugar or meringue power you could probably get it to harden.

Hope the link works

It is good. Glad it worked. Don't overcook the cake. If anything bring it out a teeny bit underdone.

No, its not the same. There a good difference between the two. Here is a web page that explains it. Each paragraph explains a different type of flour and it goes over all purpose and self rising.

The white chocolate cake sound devine.... however, for over 700 calories it's all I'm going to eat!!! Do you think it is firm enough to withstand fondant in a wedding cake.? I'm not going to tell them the calorie content.... they can dance it off.
