I do cakes for all of my co-worker's birthdays and I'm running out of ideas! I have a cake coming up this month for a man in my office and I'm at a loss as to what to do.
Over the last two years, I've done theme cakes for everyone with their hobby, so that's out. The last couple of cakes I've done for the office have been iced and decorated in chocolate, so I don't want to do that again.
I need an idea for a cake that isn't too frilly, looks somewhat masculine, but sort of generic at the same time!

How about a fall theme? I don't know what your budget is for this cake, but maybe do some fall colored leaves molded out of chocolate. Maybe a lattice type design on the cake top with an oval in the center to write the message. There are a few masculine type flowers you could do...carnations and bachelor buttons come to my mind first. Hope this helps some!

Just kidding; we're expecting a little snow here in the next few days also...after the tornadoes we had this evening. 
Glad it helped some! I made the b-day cakes for the people I worked with at my old full time job; I know how hard it can be to keep coming up with fresh ideas every month (sometimes two or three times a month) for the same group of people.
it's football season 
maybe a football cake on top of another cake, pretty simple and quick always seems to be a hit with the guys
