Happy Valentines day everyone! speaking of Valentines day, I'm doing a cake with small heart cutouts in different colors (to look like those conversation candies) w/ messages on them. The smallest tip I have on hand for lettering is a #5 ......and it looks like it will be too big. Is there a smaller tip for lettering? OR rather than searching @michaels or Walmart (neither place is close by the way) can I cover my piping bag & larger #5 with a ziploc and snip a smaller hole?? ANY ideas/ advice would be GREAT!! oh, using RI for lettering, I even tried "painting" on the letters with a small pastry brush (mixed corn sryup/a little h2o/cornstarch)? and that didn't look good at all. Yes there is a zero and smaller I believe. You can just make a piping bag from parchment and cut whatever size hole you need!HTH

I have tips 1, 2, 3, 4 also and I prefer to write with a #2, but there are 0 and 00 out there for really ultra-fine work (I still have trouble with a #1, though ... it never works for me). If you can't get to a store today (weather is horrible in many parts of the country), I would take a triangle of parchment and make a cone with a very small opening and use that to write with.

Has anyone actually found a 00? I can't even get a 0. The smallest I've got is a 1s. I've been told the o's are discontinued?

Global Sugar has PME 00, 0, 1, and 1.5. Sugarcraft has PME 0 and 00. Beryl's has 00, 0, and 1.5 as well. Note that all are PME - are stainless and seamless and therefore expensive icon_redface.gif
