We are expecting 8 inches here in Illinois. How much did you get? I saw how much New York has already gotten. WOW!!!
they forecasted 3-5 here in cincy, but it doesn't look like we'll get it. at least my university classes were cancelled today anyway!!
We have about 7 inches on top of the 5 we got last week. Now we are getting ice! There's already about 1/4 inch of ice on top of all of the snow, and we are already on a level 2 emergency. I imagine it will be level 3 in the next few hours. I'm so ready for spring!
Luckily, we don't have to go anywhere. I am ready for spring too! My hubby took the kids to his uncles and when I called it sounded like a party. Every guy who didn't have to go to work, showed up with a dish and they had a fish fry. I'm jealous at home with sick kid. At least our older kids got out and played with the other kids.
So far nothing, they say we are getting some in NJ. We are right between 3 to6 and 6 to 12. The weather people can not seem to get it right. I am just hopping if we do get snow enough for a snowday so I do not have to worry about my son driving to school.
I just posted this in another thread, but sleet and ice has been pounding my house since noon (it's 7:30 p.m. now). We have over 12" and more expected PLUS it's ice and sleet. Indpls had over 300 trucks out trying to keep up and they can barely manage to keep the main streets open for emergency vehicles (i.e. the streets leading to hospitals, etc). Multiple counties in Indiana have declared snow emergencies, meaning you can be arrested for being on the roads except for about 4 reasons (medical, food, etc). The winds are really bad .... the ice/snow is blowing sidways (and blowing HARD!) right into the front of my house. I don't DARE open the front door or my front entryway will have a snowmound in it.
Hubby worried about going to work tomorrow. We have a 4WD Jeep, but he works at a car dealership. Who in the world is going to be out buying a car in THIS stuff tomorrow!?
Local news station declared this an official "blizzard" (upgrade from Severe Winter Storm). The last "Blizzard" was in 1978.
I stocked up on supplies to make lots of my homemade soups, so we are snuggly warm in front of the fireplace, sipping my soups and hot chocolate.
We had at least 6 inches fall in the Milwaukee area over the course of the day yesterday. So there must be at least a foot of snow in my front lawn.
Crazy as it sounds, I miss driving in snow. I have a "new" car this year and I like driving in this weather because I am learning how well my car handles and I am learning how to handle my car. I've been doing good so far <knock on wood>
