Do any of you have these impression mats and how do you like them. I have my eye on a dotted one (though not sure which size is better) and the diamond shape. What company makes them?

What size dots? I saw they had two different sizes.... Any brand names on them? Do you roll the fondant out on them or press them on the cakes?

I was wondering the same thing! If you use the impression mat on the fondant before you place it on the cake, doesn't it get distorted when you smooth it out? If you do it after, how?

It can give you a pattern like the diamond impression mat, which I've seen many use for the "quilted" look, or it can help you strategically place pearls, etc.

I have the 1" dot mat. I wouldn't go any smaller than that. You can see how close together even the 1" dots are on my "White on White" and "Butterfly Wedding Cake" cakes. (It's a lot of dots.) On my "Brown Monogram" cake I did my own spacing of 1 1/2". I just personally like the wider spacing.

You can get the impression mats thru Earlene Moore too. I am about to order the stress free supports and some impresion mats thru her. I want the diamond, dots and line mats. Was thinking I could use the 3/4" and 1" dots.

Hey Jopalis, I was looking at these too! If you decide to order, let's go in on it together. Then we can split that $4.50 handling charge icon_wink.gif
