No Fail Cookies...what Is The Texture Like?

I was wondering what the texture is to these cookies.

Are they like a shortbread?

Are they soft or chewy?

I have only made them one time, but they had the texture of shortbread. They weren't very sweet at all, but once you add the icing, they were plenty sweet.
