I was wondering if anyone has used the marzipan roses. I bought some for my daughter's sweet 16 cake and I wondered about the taste. Any help would be greatly appreciated.
Happy Baking!

I want to totally cover my daughter's 16th birthday cake in marzipan roses. How did you attach them?
I love marzipan, my husband loves marzipan, my dad loves marzipan and everyone else I know HATES it! Not just a little bit of hate but a whole lot of it! I would cover my cakes in it, if people didn't revile it so much.
The baker I used for my wedding cake specialized in marzipan roses, which is why I chose her. Didn't have any marzipan on my cake, but figured if she knew marzipan her other cakes would be great. She attached the roses (baseball size) with wooden skewers.
I'm really lucky that there is Marzipan Specialties is here in Nashville so I can buy the roses and apply them to a chocolate grauche and fondant covered cake I make myself.
The roses wouldn't be baseball size, however! More like silver dollar size. With just one or two roses to formalize a cake, I would use extract to connect them but with an entire cake covered in nothing but, I worry how I can make the upper side roses hold.
