Ok so my DH thinks im mad! But i thought someone on here must be able to relate to me. Am i crazy? Is it really just me? Does any one else have a 'before a cake routine'?
On a cake day it starts, I take the kids to school, come home, get all my tools together, wash my tools, dry my tools, clean all my surfaces, turn the answering machine on, turn the radio on, wash my hands and off i go. I do it in the same order every time!!
So am i mad or does anyone else have a routine????
Nah...maybe a little Cake Mad!!... but I have a routine also...I think we all do!! I like everything set up so when I take the kids to school I can just come home and get started!!!
You're not alone. I also have a "routine" to doing a lot of things. My two teenagers tease me all the time about being a neat freak and ocd. LOL. But I don't care.
I work at my church kitchen and use the same surface for each task. EX: I use the kitchen island to ice and decorate the cakes; the back cabinets to make the decorations; the front cabinets to keep my tools. I have all my boards covered and all my decorations made BEFORE I start to ice the cake. I think it makes it go faster....really it doesn't...you know, time IS time IS time! But, it makes ME feel better! LOLL

You and I must have A LOT in common! Don't even get me started on lists! My son just turned 16 the last of January, so we gave him a surprise party at our church. You should see the list I made then. I "borrowed" a spiral notebook from my daughter and had several pages filled with decorating ideas, a page for planning the cake, another for who to invite, etc..... I just tell everyone that's how I stay "organized".
