Some of you wrote that you use light corn syrup in your icing to make the cookies glossy looking. I can only find light syrup not light corn syrup ( here in my city in Canada) . So I was wondering is there really a difference? It is not really made out of corn is it? I have found just corn syrup will that work too?

Corn syrup is usually light yellow in color, so if that's what the plain corn syrup looks like you're OK. However there is also dark corn syrup which is approximately the color of molasses. All your icing would be brown.

Corn syrup is just the sugar that's been extracted from corn.
