I'm looking for a cake mix extender to use with a chocolate cake mix to "fluff" it up some. I use the extender from this site w/sour cream, additional egg, 1 cup flour, etc, but do I use the same for chocolate? TIA

I'm not sure about the extender with chocolate, but I use the Darn Good Chocolate cake recipe on this site. It is out of this world!! I normally leave out the chocolate chips, though. I just think that makes the cake more 'homey'.

You can use the same extender for chocolate. I usually substitute 1/3 cup cocoa powder for 1/3 cup of the flour in the extender. Hope this helps.

try "margie's incredible chocolate cake" its a recipe from this site. go to recipes and in the category box just select cake mixes. it'll bring up a whole list of cake mix extender recipes.
