Hello all,

A few months ago, I made some light blue fondant and put it away for a few days before using. When I pulled it back out, it was noticeably darker than when I had made it and didn't match my swatch anymore.

Does anyone know if this is going to happen with green? I am trying to match a swatch color of apple green for this weekend, but I'm worried about it going a darker bluer hugh due to my experience before. Since it's covering an entire 4 tier cake, I want the color to be on.

Experience, please?

most colors darken slightly, whether in icing or fondant.

ALL my colors darken - I think it's like paint, the color in the can is different than the dry paint on the wall...

Yes, it will darken. I have had this happen to me with all colors as well. Even yellow.

You need to stop adding color when it's a bit lighter than you would eventually like it to be.
