It has been decided:
The Flyers trounced the Red Wings in a 6 to 1 victory. We didn't get home from Philly until almost midnight. The cake is done, and I am very very sleepy. No chimney. 
She's going to love the cake. I will post pics in the gallery.

p.s. - Was Bob Ross the "Happy little tree" guy, or the screaming German with the pallette knife in the white coat?
How about a fall picture...fall colors always add a nice feeling. the trees in the back of the cabin off to the left could have used some color that would have made your beautiful picture go pow!
I'm sure it truned out wonderful did you ever post a finished photo?

In that case, I was channeling the German guy. Just ask my family.
I put two pics in my photos - one of the top, one of the side. I tried to put the hearts she wanted on the side and incorporate the green. It still looks like two seperate cakes - but I do like the way it came out.
Pretty good for a beginner, if I do say so myself.
A cabin in the snow is in need of some warmin' up. : ) I think a chimney would be a great addition to your lovely cake.

I will start off to say you are very talented. It is an awesome painting done in icing. I think the picture looks a little off because of the bears painted in the foreground. I think if it was painted with just landscape it would have been more balanced. Since it is already done I would just leave it as is and not risk ruining it (ie. smudging the pic).

Yeah, the bears were probably what threw it off, because they were on the same side as the cabin. But they were a requirement - cabin, bears, tree, hearts. She loved it - paid me $5 extra, as a matter of fact.
And the great thing is, it wasn't perfect, but it gets eaten - so tomorrow it doesn't matter at all!!!
Hi that does look great. Chimney would be good. Is their a reason you brought the white all the way down to the ground from the roof, it makes it look like a mirrored image. Just curious. I'm probably to late in my comments anyway. Good luck. That is awesome.
