We are building a ouse, or should i say that my husband is building a house for us I only help. I thought for Valentine's Day, I would take a picnic dinner out to him and eat it in our soon-too be house. It is fully inclosed no heat, but we will be fine. He does it after work and on the weekends, we don't see a lot of each other.

My queston is what kind of food to make. I can't warm anything up. I do have a food thermos. Any suggestions would be nice.

pick up some wine or champagne, pack a salad, maybe some nice wraps or a quiche...
i'm making little mini-heart cakes for my husband for V-day... you could do something like that too.
i'm sure he'll love anything, especially since it's coming from you, and because it's from the heart!

What a coincidence, my hubby is building our house also on nights and weekends. This is our 2nd house, and I fed anyone who helped the last time. The kind of food that worked best for me was tacos, wrapped in foil kept warm for a while, Salami Bread (which is made with either frozen bread dough or the tube of french bread but you can use whatever kind of filling you want including making a dipper for it like pizza sauce or ranch dressing), brownies, and we grilled a lot if you can get a grill there. The hard thing for us has always been that they are dirty. My hubby is more of a comfort food guy, so in this weather he would love soups and chili's, great bread, and beer. Lasagna was something I served once in a while also because all you needed was a fork. Fajitas were o.k. because I could bring the crock pot, which would stay warm long enough to eat and they were wraps.

I am sure I have a lot more ideas. Let me know how the house is coming! I find the process fun! How are you doing?

We finished the siding yesterday, we shingled the gables. We have had lost of rain so we have been doing that on the non-rainy moments. I was there hleping him yesterday, and then his friend showed up to hlep him, so I left a little earlier than I was going to. Oh well his friend knew what he was doing. I am afriad yesterday I wasn't much help. He is doing the wiring on the evening nights.

It seems we don't get to see each other very often, I have a class the one night he is home a week. But he gets to spend time with our Son. He is thinking we should be in it by June. Yeah, no more renting. This will be the first house for either of us to own. Thank you for your interest.
