How Can I Attach Sugar Sprinkles To Fondant?

I made some fondant covered ice cream cones for castle turrets.

Now I want to cover them in sugar sprinkles to make them sparkly, but the fondant is dry and I can't figure out how to attach the sugar without disolving it or running the color.

I know I can't use water. Do you think lemon extract would work or would that melt the sugar? I don't want streaks, just sparkly sugar.

Any ideas? TIA.

possibly coat in confectioner's glaze and then sprinkle ???

I imagine this is urgent but for future cakes non-toxic pixie dust is great for the glitter look. You can get it at cakesbysam.com and you won't have the problem of "sparkle" sticking to your cakes.

try brushing small amounts of vodka or alcohol based liquid and sprinkle your spakles on right away. The alcohol will evaporate quickly so will not disolve the fondant.

Will it dissolve the sugar?

I'm not as worried about the fondant as the sugar sprinkles.

I think a clear alcohol is the best thing to use. Im not 100% sure if the sugar sprinkles will b ok, i'ld say do a test on a little piece of fondant and see.
Good luck
