OK I am making my first big cake for a birthday next Sunday and am attempting a white chocolate tiara. I got a template from CC but I just can't seem to get it right. All the chocolate just kind of runs together and it looks like a big ugly blob! What am I doing wrong?? What kind of chocolate is best?? Help please!!

I just use melted white chocolate chips. Maybe your chocolate is too warm, try letting it cool some, and maybe use a smaller tip.

I used a candy writer for mine, but if your design is very intricate, you're gonna have to pipe it on with a very small tip, and even then you may not be able to get all of the details in. also, laying it on it's side as you pipe... maybe that will help icon_redface.gif my white chocoate was very warm when I piped it, but it didn't run, but I hope some of this info helps!

I'm not quite sure I understand your question. First, how are you making your chocolate tiara? That'll give me some insight icon_lol.gif

Ohhh, ok, gotcha. Well, hopefully this will help you so you don't have to go digging through links thumbs_up.gif

Get a lipless can, like a coffee can, or crisco can, and tape your design to it. Next, tape wax paper around it. I greased it a little with shortening before I began. Go ahead and trace the design with the chocolate 3-4 TIMES! These things are easily breakable so the more you trace it, the stronger it is. I would let it dry for 10 minutes before going over it again. When it is dry (I stuck mine in the window since it was below 0, and the cold air made it harden firm (about 30 minutes)), slowly detach the wax paper from the can and slide it off. Slowly peel the wax paper off of the chocolate tiara, and voila! BE CAREFUL! The first time I did this it wasn't dry enough, and I didn't peel slow enough, so it broke into about 10 pieces. If one piece breaks off that's fine, just reattach it with more chocolate icon_biggrin.gif

HTH!
