I made the chocolate clay using chocolate melts, let it sit, now it has small chunks in it. Can I knead those out? (not working so far), did I not heat the chocolate enough? (it all seemed to melt), should I try rolling it out and 'squishing' the chunks back in??? (kinda sticky to do that), if I nuke it for a few seconds could that help? (almost afraid to try!) I made this several years ago and totally forgot about it until the recent posts. Don't remember having any problems with it before when I sculpted bunny ears for a cake. Anyone have any suggestions??
By the way, the Nestle white chocolate chips do NOT work well with this. The candy melts are much more smooth and taste much more like chocolate and did not leave any 'greasy' puddles. Since the melts were much smoother I was really disappointed that there still are itty-bitty chunks in my clay! ![]()

How did you melt the chocolate? If micowave you might have needed to let it set one or two min. Over the heat on the stove it was not melted enough and it did not show. Try blending it more by hand. I would use gloves, to avoid the messy hands.
Silvercat...Yeah, I was thinking that too. I'm going to try to warm the dough in the microwave and see if that helps....there's not too many chunks in the candy melts batch. If that doesn't work, guess I'll try again.
katy625...I'm not sure what went on with the Nestle chips. I usually use Guittard chips for baking but could not find the white chocolate that nite. I personally don't like the taste of the Nestle's white anyway but thought I'd try them. They taste like milk to me...not at all like cocoa butter! ![]()
