Hello!

I have been asked to do a cake with a Star Trek theme, preferably original. I did an internet search, thinking that there would be a tonne of examples, and would you believe there wasn't?!? So I am turning to you in hopes that you can help me. It needs to feed about 50 people so I was thinking some sort of tiered cake would be nice however I am open to any and all suggestions.

Thanks!

im picturing something in navy blue, with white "stars" on it. maybe you could put the words "Space, the final frontier" on it. does this person have any little action figures you could borrow for the cake? surely, they made them at some point. or maybe a buttercream transfer of the insignia on it- doesn't it look sort of like a "V". anyway, just some general thoughts

What about an "outer space" cake...? like the lower tier of this one... or do some weird, differently colourd planet on top....

Thank you for the great ideas!. MelC, I LOVE the base of your cake, the pearls really set it off. Perhaps a combo of a base like yours and then a topper like bigboots found...gotta get me an airbrush system!

There was also one at Cinda's Creative Cakes one of my favorite sites, it is a Deep Space 9 cake

Hope these help, my youngest son is a huge Star Trek fan so I have been keeping a look out for cakes with this theme.

I know youv'e done your cake, but...what if you used the t-shirt pan and made an officers uniform with the insignia?
Just a thought...
