You really have to look at technology in general. Printer companies come out with new printers ALL the time. I would think it would be hard for Kopykake to keep trying to keep up with the technology to create compatible cartridges. They would be making new ones all the time just to have them be "outdated" by the time they are done because 5 new printers just came out. The outdated printers are not bad, they are just hard to come by. The Epson C88 that KK recommends can still be found in some stores--I know that Walmart.com has it. I have not checked the store yet.
Not sure about cake specialty stores carrying them--I would think not, most likely just the inks and edbile sheets.
I got my directly from Epson. They have decent sales and I got lucky. www.epson.com
I purchased the Epson cx4800 which is an all in one printer from ebay. I got it brand new for $60.00. I used it for the first time today and the images are absolutely beautiful. I had no idea it would be this easy and the images would come out so perfect. I'm thrilled to say the least....
I got the Epson Stylus C88+ at Staples for $69.99. It works beautifully. No clogs as of yet and it is 3 months old. I use it quite a bit though.
Where do you buy the ink for the Epson printers? You don't use regular ink, do you?
TIA!
Becky
