My DH got me the wedding cake decorating Nicholas Lodge course in GA this summer! The description looks cool, where you decorate a three tier cake, and make a vase of flowers to go the cake!

So has anyone taken his classes at his school in GA? What is it like? The description sounds like they provide a lot of the supplies. I am sure I am still going to spend major bucks on their little shopping area there. hahaha!

We have a 32 foot camper and are just going to camp out at a campground near by. (its about a 5 hour drive for us) I can't wait!!

would love to hear any of your experiences with these classes!

wow..wonderful present!!!!
I am going to his gumpaste flower class in Cambridge ON in May...can't wait. I would have loved to take a "cake" course from him too but will have to wait.

I can't wait for you to report back how it was!! When I go, I too will write a blurb on the gumpaste class.

You are a lucky lady!

What a fabulous gift! My sweet lil DH gave me my choice of one of his classes, too - I'm going to the basic class the end of this month. I have been to his studio for classes before, and he is nothing short of amazing. Everything is furnished - all supplies and tools, everything is organized and focused. There is a fridge with basic beverages, fresh coffee and hot water for tea available all day long. Scott bakes cookies in the afternoon and puts out a fabulous lunch every day - no scrambling for a restaurant close by or dragging heavy bottles of water in with you every day (which I did the first day). He is very gentle and approachable and covers everything as many times as needed - no worries or sweat for the students at all. He usually has at least one helper in the classroom, too, to keep things cleaned up and organized and moving smoothly. Just take lots of money for his retail shop icon_lol.gif .

Your husband is a keeper! That is a wonderful gift, one you will remember for the rest of your life. You will love Nic's class and learn so much there. Be prepared to go home tired at the end of the day.

And Nic's life partner Scott is just as sweet as he can be. He insisted on giving me a ride back to the motel because it was raining, the motel was two steps across the street.

I am so jealous!!!! icon_cry.gif My birthday/anniversary is Feb 28, how would I go about hinting to my hubby? I looked up Lodge's website but didn't see a class schedule. We live less than two hours from him. I wold love to see a brochure.

Okay, so I was looking at the side of the page that had items for sale and orders. I must not be with it today, because sure enough, across the top of the page, "CLASSES." If it had been a snake, it would have bit me. icon_rolleyes.gif

Might have to save up for one of the classes. The price is a little high for our normal gift giving, but I did just book a wedding for $300. Hmmmm...

You are going to have a wonderful time. I know for a fact. Him and the staff are really great and all the stuff at the shop, is just great.

BTW-the little cake on my avatar is from the last class I took with him.

Have Fun!!!

July seems to far away, I cannot wait!!! I will fer sure report every detail of the class to everyone!

I had taken every wilton class in my area and I had told my DH I wish I could take a Nicholas Lodge class (I have his DVD's and I just love them!) That was about all the hinting I did! hahaha!
