I just bought my first cake dummies. They are 10" for $3.65 each. Is that a good price? I also bought some of the press and seal saran wrap. Is there anything else special that I need to do to them before we decorate?

That's about what I pay for them.

Check out dallasfoam.com (I think that's the correct address) next time. They have 10" rounds for $2.08.
There are several ways to prep a cake dummy but I use royal icing and then get a super-fine sand paper and sand it down before applying fondant. Never covered one with buttercream - sorry!
