I am looking for a cream cheese icing recipe that can be smoothed, and possibly crusts but still tastes like cream cheese icing. I have tried the wilton recipe, and the white chocolate cream cheese icing from this site, but I still have trouble getting it on a cake without making a mess. Any help would be greatly appreciated. I have seen so many cakes on here that say they used cream cheese icing, and they look beautiful. What are your secrets ladies?

I love the crusting cream cheese icing recipe from this site. Warning -it makes alot of icing, but can be halved with no problem-(unless you like it on a bagel in the am icon_lol.gif )

Here's a crusting cream cheese icing on the site

I'm gonna try it tonight and see how it tastes and how well it crusts. Wish me luck!

I made a cream cheese frosting this evening that didn't crust over but was thinking if I added some meringue powder perhaps it would then. any thoughts on that idea?

it's a simple recipe: butter, cream cheese, favoring and powdered sugar
