okay, i made my stand up horse cake last night and it turned out pretty well so i covered it up and went to bed. this morning my dh tells me very sweetly and from half way across the room (i think it was fear i saw in his eyes 
) that my horse got a "haircut" in the middle of the night ... the back part of his mane fell off!!! actually it's the part that is on the side of the cake and i was alittle afraid of that when i did it last night. i tried not to put it on to thick but maybe i did. this is for a co-worker's daughter and i have tonight and alittle bit tomarrow to fix him, the fix itself won't be hard but how do i keep this from happening again??? any help would be GREATLY appreciated!!!! thanks in advance.

Is it made from buttercream? Did you use the grass tip to make the mane?
