In my house, Spiderman will be considered deceased from this day forward. Stupid me agreed to do a Spiderman cake for the cutest little boy. Well, I may not even think he is so cute after dealing with this cake. I don't know if it is just me or what. I did a three tiered anniversary cake last weekend in less time than it has taken me to bake and decorate Spiderman and make cupcakes to go with him. I didn't know I could spread black icing in so many places. Nothing seemed to go right when I was dealing with it. icon_lol.gificon_lol.gif

Character cakes are not worth the time it takes to do them as far as I am concerned. Good thing I really love my grandkids or they wouldn't get them. icon_lol.gificon_lol.gif

Just wanting to vent..........

Yup, I've done two sculpted spiderman cakes (the same one) and it took FOREVER! ...and I just had a friend tell me that her son wants a spiderman cake for his birthday. I'm kind of hoping that he changes his mind by then, as kids are known to do. icon_lol.gif

What kind of spiderman cake are you doing??

I'm sure he'll love your spiderman even if you don't. My son would scream if he read the title of this post icon_lol.gif

Don't worry, my grandson would scream if he read this post also. The cake wasn't for him though. His mother has made him two of them. I made this one for a friend. She picked it up today and said, "Well, why would it have taken any longer than any others." I asked her if she had ever noticed the spiderwebs and all those ugly little stars. She asked why I bothered with the spiderwebs. DUH!!!!!

I was just doing the flat character cake. And NO, there will be no pics before the funeral! I don't even what a pic on my computer to remind me of it. icon_lol.gif

I am calmer today and not quite so upset with Spiderman. I did find more red frosting on the side of one counter that almost set me off again. I don't know why this cake got me so riled up. I have one to do this evening with Sesame Street characters and I'm sure Big Bird and I will get along fine. icon_lol.gif
