I sent this order out last night and charged $40.00 for the pair. They were all buttercream with FBCT on top and tinkerbell had a MMF "ribbon" for the name. I am really having a problem figuring out how much to charge. My family thinks I should have charged more.
It would be really helpful if we started putting the price we charged in the description of the cake.
What size are the cakes? You did an awesome job. I think Tinkerbell is one of the hardest cakes to do because of her eyes, but yours is beautiful
Those are both great cakes! What size were they? I would have probably charged $27 or so for ea., depending on the size. I charge different prices for different size cakes and then add a cost for each additional item. Those FBCTs I would have charged probably $7-10 each. That's just me, though. I used to undercharge but found it just wasn't worth it to take the time away from my family for no profit.
You did a great job!

I think you definitely undercharged! Your cakes look fantastic!! How big were the cakes?
I have decided that I am no longer going to turn my oven on for less than 25.00. That is for one cake. I have trouble pricing too, but am working on it.

I guess it depends on the size. I charge $30-40 for a 8"-9" cake like that. Everyone does this when they start. I remember charging $20 for a 3layer 10" cake when I first started!
They were both 2 layer 9 inch cakes. This is only my third order and I guess I will get better at pricing as I go along.
Looking at the price list I just came up with for my area for a 6" 2 layer I charge $15 but the FBCT are extra and based on those I would have charged $10.00 each. I was doing the same thing just recently. I take my ingredients and X3 then round up to the nearest $.
I charge $36 for 9" rounds- includes frosting, filling and a FBCT - a simple one- I add a little bit if the transfer is a more difficult one.
Thanks for the compliments and the pricing advice. Boy....do I feel dumb! I'll just have to call it a learning experience and charge more the next time. I'm afraid to give too high of an estimate and then have the customer back out. I think I'll feel better about charging more when I get a larger customer base.
