Hello Ladies,

I recently started a part time job at a small ice cream shop where I am the primary cake decorator, but the owner's wife does some of the decorating as well. I would like to organize our "leftover" colored icing that is still in the bags. Anyone have any ideas on how to do this? Those who work in commercial bakeries where other decorators are sharing the supplies? For now, we just put it all in a small plastic bin, but this makes it difficult to find the color you really need.

Thanks for your help,
Paula

Maybe share what you would like to do with the owner and his wife....

could you have colors in separate bins and mark them with exactly what color.........and the date also....

At the bakery I worked at, our bags were placed on trays that we pulled out a little, we would find what we need and push the trays back. All our icing colors were in clear bags. Of course the ends would crust over by morning so we would just run hot water over them and squirt the first bit out.
