I don't ever just add extracts, to me the baking dulls the tastes.
If you want something easy how about adding a box of pudding, any flavor icon_biggrin.gif

I forget who posted it but a fellow CC said she added lemon curd and whipped cream to her mix. sounds so yummy. Can't wait to try!\\

I use milk in the place of water and that makes a big difference to me and I use a couple of teaspoons of almond and vanilla extracts.

I followed the Cake Doctor's thoughts for snickerdoodle and it was really good - I used milk instead of water, butter instead of oil and a hefty amount of cinnamon.

THanks everyone for all the tips. It was a cake that i was asked to do from one day to the next, so i decided that, rather than stress myself out over it, i would just replace the water with milk and be done with it. But, now i know for future reference what i can add!
THanks again!

Someone gave me this.. make your cake as it says on the box. adding 1 cup flour, 1 cup of white sugar, one egg, 1/2 cup milk and a teaspoon of vanilla.. It is wonderful!!! I've used this on all flavors.

Is this like the "cake mix extender" thing?

adding a tsp of almond and a little flour (1/4c sifted) helps to make white cakemix taste more wedding cake than birthday cake.
