I absoultly LOVE MMF! I think it taste good and is less expensive than Satin Ice (Great for Free cakes for the Family!) But the color does not seem at white as Satin Ice. Mine always has a yellow hint to it so it looks like the ivory of buttercream. Is this just me? Can I do anything to make is whiter? Thanks!!!

First off, make sure you are using clear extracts so you don't get a tint from that=) Second, you can add a TINY bit of violet gel color and it will cancel out the yellow tone you are noticing. Also, if you are using crisco with it, make sure it is the regular white crisco and not the butter flavored...learned that one by expierence, lol=) Jen

Thanks for the advise! I will try adding a LITTLE violet to the MMF. I never thought about the crisco but I checked mine and I am using white crisco so I don't that is it.

Wilton (I think) has a bright white food coloring don't they? Check that maybe if the other thing doesn't work.

I have heard folks say that the "easy mmf" recipe on this site (which uses MMfluff instead of actual MM's) makes it whiter. I've used it and it also tends to be stickier and you need to dust more with confectioner's sugar while you work with it, but it looks good and tastes good, just needs a little more TLC to make sure it doesn't stick.

Make sure you are not using off-brand marshmallows, they tend to have a yellowish color after melting. I use JettPuffed brand. Also don't overheat your mallows, or they will become a little discolored. Take your time and stir stir stir. It will not look like they are melted yet, but keep stirring and they will break down for you. I add a few tablespoons of wilton's white coloring to each full batch on mmf, add it to the melted marshmallows and it should be nice and white for you! HTH

Thanks for the tips. I have seen that wilton white coloring and I think I am going to pick some up to and try that!
