How much difference does brand make? I've noticed my buttercream isn't quite as good as it used to be. I've switched butter brands (now using Harris Teeter's). What about Land o' Lakes? Thanks!

I know that there are differance with each brand of butter, you just have to try them all to see what you prefer! Salted butters contain between 1/4 tsp to 3/4 tsp of salt per stick and differant brands have differant water contents as well as fat/cream ratios. I have never paid close enought attention to tell but I would think name brands would be the best. I know that butters made in other countries (like Europe) are much better.

If you can notice a difference your customers probably can too. It's your call how important the difference is.

Land o'Lakes is very good, pricey but very good.
