Does anyone know where I can get instructions to make a baby from fondant? I have to make a baby shower cake next month and would like to have a baby on the cake but haven't been able to find instructions to make one.

I would maybe pm someone from this site who has them in their photos. Usually people don't mind giving advice. Sorry that I can't be any help. icon_cry.gif

I myself haven't done it, but maybe try getting some play-doh or clay first, and sculpting from there before working with the fondant? I like to do that because then I get the feel for what I'm looking for, but I don't waste fondant. HTH! icon_smile.gif

I will bump you too, just to help icon_lol.gif BTW, yesterday I was in an arts&crafts store and came across books on how to do figures in polymer clay........why couldn't we cake decorators use that book, using fondant instead of clay? icon_confused.gif I may go back and get the instruction book geered towards children (my artistic ability is limited icon_surprised.gif ) and see if I can at least make fondant characters on a child's level! icon_lol.gif

Hello there, I saw in michael's, molds to do the babies and people out of clay, I am sure you can use the fondant also with these molds, they are in the clay and molding department.

I haven't try them out but I am sure many have

hope the info helps

I have made them with two different molds, but I used a 50/50 paste, half fondant, half gumpaste.

I have the sleeping baby mold from First Impressions and the baby head and hands molds from Holly Products.
