I wish.. I'm way downstate from your brother and we've only had about 4 inches of snow ALL YEAR!! icon_cry.gificon_cry.gif . I'm one of those rare NYers that LOVE THE SNOW and I miss it soooo much. Not quite 94" of it though, but more than we've had!

AW MAN!!! I wish I was where your brother is!! I *LOVE* snow. I could bake to my stomach content and be quite happy!!!

We're due for some snow here in MD next week which is being said to maybe be a good one. We've only got 2-3 inches at a time the last 2 times it snowed but it nearly melts entirely in a few days.

BTW, this confuses me. How can the snow melt so daggone fast when the temperature hasn't been over the mid-twenties for a couple weeks now?

I'm in Memphis and we had .02 inches( that is 2 1/100's of an inch) of sleet and snow this morning. They closed both bridges over the Mississippi River into Arkansas and about half of the interstates around town!! Thank God I was home and didn't have to get out. People here lose their minds at the first sight of a snowflake!!

Personally, I prefer the sunshine, I like snow but not the cold that goes along with it.....

They're going to have a miserable time when all that melts not to mention the problems getting the roads cleared and doors open.

I wish some of that snow would travel down this way. We've gotten like 2ins total the whole winter, my poor daughter keeps asking when its gonna snow.

Good heavens, that's almost 8 ft. You couldn't open the doors or look out the windows of your house! How do you even plow 7 or 8 ft of snow?

It's hard to even find places to put the snow when you have that much even if you can plow. Several years ago we had 90 some odd inches over the whole winter, the most in any storm was 3 feet and that snowed us in for at least a few days. That was the year the Red River flooded Fargo and Grand Forks.
If this snow in New York melts quickly it will cause more flooding concerns that if it melts slowly.

The towns off of Lake Ontario did get 94" of snow. They declared a state of emergency for the area.

Yes it is called lake effect. They had narrow bands of snow so where there was six feet others 30-60 miles away had a fraction of it.

It is quite dangerous--Here we have have to rake our roofs every once in a while.

It's been insane crazy here with the snow! thumbsdown.gif Enough already!!! While I'm not snowed in, my brother in the next town over is...they have to use snow sleds to get around for emergencies and to get food and help for people!

First I experience my first green Christmas ever....and now just a few weeks later I'm seeing more snow then usual!!!

I don't mind too much....the only winter activity I like is hottubbing!! The rest of my time is spent here on CC thumbs_up.gif

(here being two hours north west of Toronto Ont.....sorry)

Yeah! I was in Alexandria LA a couple of weeks ago and they THOUGHT it might sleet so they closed the schools and closed the bridges and sanded them! I was laughing about it, BUT, if they don't know how to drive on it....it's best to close everything down!
