Hi again. I'm still new to cake decorating, and building up my repuation and bakeware
I'd like to start making 3d cakes. I know different pans are used for different cakes but is there a "universal" pan? Or a must have pan to make 3d cakes? Since I can't exacly afford to get multiple pans I was hoping maybe there would be one that can be used for most things, so that I could use the same pan over and over, and just carve different things.

I just took a sculpting class from Bronwen Weber, who has been on 2 Food Network challenges recently. She says she doesn't own a single shaped pan. She carves all of hers from round or square pans. So if you've got the talent and/or patience to carve them from scratch, no need for a fancy pan, I suppose.
Hm.. I have the patience, not sure about the talent part ![]()
Thanks for the reply ![]()
Perfect thank you! I was thinking of those two actually but wasnt sure if they were so versatile. *adds them Christmas list*
