Royal Icing Getting Thick In The Bag?

I made cookies lastnight and the icing was really hard to get piped out after like 10 cookies. It was nice and thin when I put it in the bag. I cleaned the tip and it didn't help.
Any ideas why the icing got so thick so soon?

I don't know for sure, haven't used a lot of it but did you let them sit out for awhile switching colors? Hope someone can help!
Hmmm....the only thing I can think of was that I wasn't using a plastic bag. It's Martha bag that is like treated cloth or something. I'll try the same recipe with an all plastic bag and see if that helps.
