Hey there!
I am looking forward to taking a class with Colette Peters next month? Has anyone ever tutored under her before?? I am so excited, and I would love to hear about anyone else's experience. If you feel like it, send a few pictures of things you made while taking her class!

Thank-you in advance for your time and thoughts!
Lindsay

I haven't taken a class with her, but would love it! Where are you taking the class?

I've taken Colette's classes at Wilton. You'll have a ton of fun and learn a lot. She demonstrates, answers questions, makes suggestions, shares FoodNetwork stories, sometimes makes sketches for upcoming cakes, etc.

Here are some of what I did there:

I took a class with her a couple years ago when she taught it at a culinary school in northeastern Ohio. It was an amazing experience. She is so nice and explains everything really well. She makes everything look so easy!!! Have fun!!! icon_smile.gif

Later this year she is coming down to New Zealand! Wwwwaaaahhooooo! I think she is going to be taking some demonstrations and hopefully a couple of classes. She is only visiting one city (mind you, we are a pretty tiny country) so I will be taking the 3 hour boat ferry and 3 hour drive to go and see her.....I can't wait. icon_biggrin.gif

You are all so lucky, I would love to do one of her courses. I think she is brilliant! But she doesn't do any courses in the UK!
Have fun on your course, make sure you post your photos.

I have 2 cakes in my photos that I made while taking her courses at Wilton outside Chicago. The first class is the cake with cascading roses and the advanced class is the tea service.

It was so much fun. She is so nice. Will answer any question you ask. Demonstrate most of what you have seen her do. She will challenge you to do something outside of what you usually do.

Make sure to bring along some extra cash. She sells her books, cutters and some tools. Love her cutters and veiners. Bought most of what she was selling. She also signed all 4 books I brought with me.

Classes were awesome, she was awesome, would love to take the advanced course again. She even said that she hopes some would take the advanced course over and again and learn and try new techniques. It was absolutely worth using my vacation to attend!

Thank You all for posting this. It's a lot of help to me . I couldn't decide whether or not to take her class when she comes to Los Angeles in April.or 3 days. For sure I am now. In March I am taking a class with Bronwen Weber and in May with Carol Webb at www.cakevisions.com

At the beginning of November - that's all I know at the moment. She is coming here as a guest of the NZ Cake Decorators Guild for the 21st Annual Conference. Exciting stuff!!!
