I got my first order for a dessert cake (a Linzer Torte) and was wondering how everyone charges for these kinds of desserts? It costs me about 12 dollars to make one and 30 minutes of prep time. It is really easy to do, so I dont feel right charging the same rate as a would a decorated cake, but I dont know what the going rate is? Any help is appreciated, I told her I'd give her a price tonight.
TIA
Diana

It is a 10" torte made in a springform pan, about 12 generous servings (it's pretty rich, although only about 1 inch tall). I was thinking about ingredants x 2.5, although x3 does sound better icon_smile.gif Especially since she wants it in a box with a ribbon on top.

My rule of thumb is either x 3 or x 4, and it's usually x 4.
