ARRRRG! So much for getting to bed early on daylight savings time! I made a cookie cake w/the preprepared cookie dough you buy from the store. I noticed at American Cookie, they only give you the cookie and a box-no pan-and the cookie holds it's shape. Well, I assumed mine would too. As I flipped it out of the pan, and carried it to the box to be decorated, I guess my support wasn't great, and I didn't think it would be that fragile since it was definitly cool, but it broke right in HALF! This was for my son's 3rd grade class, so I definitly couldn't say "just eat it!". After going to the store again and getting a disposable pan, I was able to get a pretty decent cookie. Do you have any idea how AC get's their cookie to withstand not being in a pan???

P.S. I just released the hold on my husband's neck from saying "It's okay-it may work next time"...LOL!

I have never made one with store bought cookie dough so not sure if that was an issue or not. When I make these I bake them in a regular cake pan. Allow to cool, then flip out onto a cake board (will be upside down) then place another cake board on top and flip it again(will be right side up now).

They probably bake at a slightly hotter temperature which will cause the outside to bake faster than the inside. HTH

I use the prepared sugar cookie dough all the time when I"m in a rush to make cookie pops. I add extra flour..about....1/2 cup more and i"ve never had a problem with them.

Try that next time and see what happens...

Thanks guys! I will be using all of your suggestions next time! I think the flipping with the boards would have averted the disaster!
